Quotes from a Wonderful Movie — 300

Last night, I was so tired, lying on the sofa, watching SuperMovies.. They played the movie 300..
Recently, I had this habit of memorizing and writing quotes from movies, or anywhere.. So here are some of the quotes that I liked or caught my attention..

The Queen:
Freedom isn’t free at all, that it comes with the highest of costs. The cost of blood.

Xerxes: It isn’t wise to stand against me, Leonidas. Imagine what horrible fate awaits my enemies when I would gladly kill any of my own men for victory.
King Leonidas: And I would die for any one of mine.

The last words of the King Leonadis:

My Queen, My wife… My Love…

The Captin to King Leonadis about his son death:

I had lived my entire life without regret until now. It’s not that he died for his country. It’s that I never got to tell him that I loved him the most. That he had stood by me with honor. That he was the best in me.

Dilios:

The old ones say we Spartans are descended from Hercules himself.

Dealing with winmail.dat in Linux

Today, I have received an email from a Windows User using Outlook and he was using Rich Mode instead of plain text or html. Thus, when sending attachments, it comes as winmail.dat file. Winmail.dat file is like an archive file contains all the attachments, thus it can be extracted. There is a wonderful tool called ytnef which I used to extract the attachments from the email I got.

A simple how to use:

  1. Save the winmail.dat to your home directory, probably a temp folder in your home directory.
  2. Open the terminal and change the directory to the place where the winmail.dat is saved.
  3. Run the command:
    ytnef -f . winmail.dat
It will save the files in the current directory.

My Nicknames — Compiler and Ali the savior

I had two nick names that I always loved to be called with, I didn’t invent them but they just got attached to me and I loved them. I remember the first day I was called Compiler… I was in the Computer Science Lab, Building 15, University of Bahrain — Location Isa Town.
We were doing the computer science 102 (C++ Programming) assignment. I completed mine faster than everyone. So I started helping others… Many of my colleagues didn’t have good knowledge or let’s say interest in programming, so they had lots of structural and logical mistakes… So, one of my colleagues had an error when compiling the C++ Code. So, I took a look at the code and I found the error and fixed it.. And I heard people around me saying: Aah, Compiler!! Since that day, many people know me as Ali Compiler!

The other name Ahmed Alghawas (Friend of mine) called me it and I loved it… I think I will start using it too.. He had an issue with a Linux server, and he have been told that I am a Linux Expert, so he spoke to me and I helped.. He called me Ali the savior.. And we became friends since that day!

I was telling Jassim BuHayal about the new nickname since he only knew Compiler since UOB Days… And he said, its nice.. Use it as:
The Savior, Ali The Savior… Just like, Bond, James Bond!
